HAZARD MITIGATION

Hazard Recognition

Identifying hazards is the first step necessary to increase wildfire resiliency to your home and property. Many high risk elements such as overgrown brush, highly combustible vegetation and debris around a home can be removed to reduce the threat of fire spreading to your home. The survivability of your house and property is dependent on identifying and removing these hazards. Remove the fuel, remove the fire.

Residential Fuel Mitigation

Removing the fuels from your property and areas adjacent to your house is essential to ensuring your home can survive a wildfire. We will focus on the removal of high risk trees, vegetation and other fuels which are likely to ignite by ember transplant and surface fire spread. By removing the combustible vegetation, your home becomes much more resilient and will be able to withstand ignition.

Home Ignition Prevention

In order to ensure survivability of your home and fully mitigate the risk of damage by wildfire your house needs to be prepared to withstand high heats and strong winds. During a major fire event, high winds can blow lit embers 2-3kms ahead of the fire front and can ignite homes upon contact with combustible materials, such as exposed wood and vinyl surfaces. In order to minimize this risk we will work to mitigate and remove common hazards that lead to home ignition and give you a more fire resilient home.
